Puddin Pop

I'm behind in posting and have some other pictures that I want to get up, but I'm going to jump to the present and then backtrack a little in the next couple posts. Anyway, as you may have seen on Life's Little Moments, we have our first foster dog...Puddin Pop! She is a foster only because we are tyring her out for fit before making any decisions. You may remember Puddin from my last post. She is the hound that I fell in love with while at the kennel, but she had already been selected for another family. And remember that adorable little smile where she wrinkles her nose and shows a few teeth? Well, it turns out that her smile scared her new mom and she didn't want to keep sweet Puddin!

I was out of town this weekend because I took my niece and nephew on a little vacation before school starts back. Tracy picked up Puddin on Saturday afternoon and I didn't meet her (again) until yesterday afternoon. She greeted me at the door with tail wags and kisses like she had known me for years and couldn't wait to see me. She is super sweet, very friendly, and loves to play. She seems quite comfortable here and acts like she's been living here all along. She does have a couple bad habits that we've noticed like counter surfing so we'll work on that. Since she had been in a home for a couple weeks she already pretty much knew how to do the stairs (she goes up great, but is still a little uncoordinated going down) and has settled in quite nicely. She hasn't had any accidents and doesn't seem nervous about anything which has made the transition easier on us.

Now for the real question - what do Macy and Buford think? Well, Puddin loves to play and sometimes Buford gives her the evil eye when she plays with his toys. He's also torn between whose pee he's going to pee over top of...the only time it's easy is when they all three line up and pee on the same spot in a row! And Macy? Well, she is definitely jealous and seems depressed that she has to put up with another one. She has already started teaching Puddin the house rules though, mainly 'don't get near me when I'm on my bed'! Grrr! Puddin has graciously let Macy continue her reign and although they are not best buds I've been quite pleased with their interactions. Needless to say, I was a little worried about how Macy would accept another hound coming in the house. She hasn't been quite as aggressive as I thought she would be, she's more sad than anything I think, but is still handling it all so far.

So, was it meant to be or is three really a crowd after all? I guess time will tell....

I haven't had time to take too many pictures of Puddin Pop, but she is a cutie so I have a few.

The girls both like laying in the sun - you can see the look of disgust on Macy's face.

I think she just saw a bug.

The bone is still Buford's all time favorite stuffie (it was his first) and is the only one that he has never ripped or torn a hole in, hopefully Puddin doesn't either!

More play time..she spends plenty of time in this position!

For the first time, we have a roacher in the house!

She really is a cutie, such pretty markings. I hope they all become the best of friends! (I think you may need a back up "bone".

How could she not be a sweetheart with a name like Puddin pop. My fingers are crossed that three is not a crowd. LOL

We love the smilers :) I met Puddin on Saturday and told her to play nice with Buford and do whatever Macy tells her too. I love it when all four of mine are roaching on the couch together. Synchronzied roaching.
