I had a beautiful baby girl at 12:14 am on Saturday, March 6! It's hard to believe she will already be two weeks old in a few more hours! Although it is tiring, it has been an absolutely amazing experience!
While I was in the hospital, Tracy brought the dogs up and called me so I could look out the window at them from my room - so thoughtful :) They got to go for a ride and then he walked them around the hospital grounds - two of their favorite things of course!

Leading up to the birth, I had played a cd of baby sounds many times and also "practiced" with a doll baby to gauge the kids reactions. They weren't really impressed with either and the newness quickly wore off. After we had the baby, Tracy brought a blanket home with him while I was still in the hospital. They sniffed it and then went on their merry way! I was so worried about how a baby would impact their lives and was a little stressed about the whole idea so I tried to do all the right things.
On Monday, March 8 we brought our baby girl home. I am amazed at how well they have adapted! I guess I shouldn't have worried so much, especially given the nature of greyhounds! Like everything else, they sniffed and were curious at first - and then quickly moved on! Occasionally, Buford will whine a little when Lauren is crying, but for the most part they just ignore her and continue sleeping! We recorded their first meeting - it was pretty anticlimactic and not really worth posting the video though. Buford and Puddin were interested - for about 5 minutes! Macy initially wanted nothing to do with Lauren, but has since come around.

I am so proud of how well they have adjusted and it definitely makes life easier! They have enjoyed having me home all day with them - although most of my day is comprised of taking care of the baby now. They still give me so much love every day though! Tracy has been taking them for a walk every day too which I know helps to keep them happy!
Here's one more picture of my newest love!
