Pup Cups

It was a gorgeous weekend in Virginia - sunny and around 80 degrees each day!  Unfortunately, Buford hurt his paw earlier in the week so we haven't been able to go for walks.  So...on Saturday evening, we took the kids out for ice cream to a local ice cream shop that has become very popular!

The pups thought they were at another meet and greet at first.  I can't even count the number of times we were asked what kind of dogs we had or if they were greyhounds.  Three hounds draw lots of attention and there was plenty of petting to go around.

I had an ice cream cone, Tracy had a milkshake, and we ordered three "pup cups"!  Aside from being adorable, I was surprised that the pup cups are always free there also :)  They put ice cream in a cup and add two milkbones to each!

I shared my cone with them after they finished their own ice cream!

Macy, Buford, and Puddin Pop all enjoyed their outing!  I have a feeling there will be more trips to get pup cups this summer!

That reminds me of a local Dairy Queen around here. They'd always give the dogs a free cup of ice cream (and hubby would complain that they got more for free than he got on the cone he paid for) when we stopped for dinner on our way to the nursing home. One night there were new kids working in there and nobody gave them free ice cream. Treat huffed and snorted all the way there in total disgust! We had to stop on the way home and buy her some, she was so bent. Your pups all look adorable enjoying their treats!

With 5 kids and 2 dogs we are quite familiar with the Carousel and "pup" cups :) Believe it or not the first couple of times Hero ate the Milk Bones and turned up his nose at the ice cream, but eventually he came around (now he "helps" me with mine too ;) Glad to see you are all out and about and enjoying the sunshine!

That's funny...our guys didn't want anything to do with the Milk Bones as long as there was ice cream around! We had to take them with us and they ate them once we got in the van :)

What a great idea. Will have to see if any of my local ice cream places have pup cups. The kids think the Meet 'n Greet with pup cups is a great combo.

I'm sending this post to our local Brewster's to ask for Pup Cups!

So awesome! My kids have tried ice cream at the doggie ice cream socials at local events several times and they always turn their noses up. Maybe they would enjoy it in a less crowded setting. :)

I'm going to ask out local ice cream stand to do the same. Our dogs would go bonkers!
