This surely won't be the last picture of Macy that I post on here, but when I downloaded pictures from my camera I found that this was the last picture we had taken of Macy. It was taken on December 12, five days before that fateful trip to the vet. I had gone to our monthly meet and greet that afternoon (which is again today) and this was about an hour after I got home. I left Lauren and Macy at home with their daddy and took Buford and Puddin with me. I didn't take Macy because I wanted to spare her the grief of having to deal with those shiny floors at the Petco.
We are sharing a glazed croissant from the bakery. Macy always loved to share our doughnuts and I always saved her the last bite. I sat down on the couch and apparently leaned forward and she thought I was offering it to her. After Tracy snapped the picture, she gave a big, long lick which secured her half of the croissant! Smart move on her behalf!
Macy was the world's pickiest eater when it came to dog food (I can easily name at least 15 brands that we tried with no luck), but she LOVED all people food. There were so many things that she sat and waited patiently for with a look that we just couldn't resist. She never found a doughnut, cookie, cake, chip, or cracker that she didn't like! It's no surprise that she loved chicken, hamburger, and steak! Ice cream was one of her favorites! So were cheese and peanut butter! It made us laugh when she shared our baked apples so many times like they were the tastiest treat she'd ever had!
I hope there is an endless supply of all of her favorite things in heaven...maybe she's even discovered another new and tasty snack by now :)

Was Macy a blue fawn, or just a light fawn? In that picture, she reminded me so much of Bunny! She always looked like such a little character in her pictures. :)
Macy was that really light, creamy, beautiful fawn. Non-greyhound people have always been attracted to our brindles, but greyhound people always commented on Macy's color. And, yes, she was quite a character - always making us smile or laugh at one thing or another!
I love have the kids get treats out of my mouth. Works for everything from fries to real dog treats. Can't blame Macy. Human food is yummy!
Macy was so very smart. She knew people food was soooo much tastier!
This is a special picture.
What a great photo. Macy wasn't picky..she just knew what she liked! No use wasting calories on stuff you don't. ;-)
