Boo, Pop, and May May

There is no doubt that we have instilled a true love of dogs in Lauren!  She spots a dog on TV, in a book, riding down the road, on a walk, etc. long before anyone else sees them and she gets super excited about it! I remember thinking a long time ago how I couldn't wait for her to start saying our dogs names because I knew it would be cute.  She's been calling them by name for a while now and I'm just now getting around to writing about it.  Buford is "Boo", Puddin Pop is "Pop", and yes she even knows Macy who is "May May"!  We have a digital frame with pictures of the dogs which is how she knows Macy - as the pictures click by she will name each dog and never gets one wrong!

Lauren loves to give Boo and Pop treats and kisses all the time!  She follows the dogs around diligently passing out dog toys to them.  She will also point to Buford and say "bad" when we find that he has chewed on another one of her toys or books though, which happens often!  When Lauren wakes up she will usually start to whisper "Mama...Dada...Pop...Boo" - I love it that she always includes the dogs in our family :)  While reading books, she will assign items from the pages of her books to everyone and always gives some to Pop and Boo.

Buford has always been very tolerant of Lauren's affection, but Puddin was very nervous around Lauren for the longest time and would get up and walk away when Lauren tried to approach her.  It seems that only in the last month or so has Puddin finally got comfortable around Lauren :)  As a result I have lots of pictures of Lauren with Buford and I'm just now starting to get some good ones with Puddin.  Not only does Lauren love Boo and Pop, but she also has a certain adoration for a greyhound statue in our family room that was a gift from VAGA for hosting our annual adoption group picnic.  She is constantly giving the statue hugs and kisses...the other day I looked up to see that Lauren was holding the telephone up to the statue's ear!

Here are some recent pictures of Lauren with her "dog-dogs".

Lauren is such a sweet, and smart, girl! I love your posts that have her with dogs. She is really growing up. That's great that Puddin is feeling more comfortable around her. All of the pictures are beautiful!

How sweet. Cute pics of Lauren and her dog-dogs. Jealous that I didn't grow up with dogs.

Goodness, your sweet girl is too cute, she puts a huge smile on my face every time I see pics of her! If you don't mind me asking: How old is Lauren?
She is a lucky girl to have her pups and Boo and Pop are lucky as well! <3

I wonder how long before Lauren has her own Greyhound:) She certainly is great with them and such a cute photo of her kissing the statue. Love her very pretty dress too:)

Great pictures. Reminds me of our granddaughter at that age. She came to stay with us for the first time (about 15 months) and when she realized that Mom and Dad weren't here she started to cry hard. But as soon as she saw our greyhound she quit crying. She was fascinated with our greyhound and never cried the rest of the weekend. Today, at age 12 she still loves all dogs.

Yes, fortunately she only kisses the nose of the fake one! She knows that faces are off limits on Boo and Pop :)
