Disbelief

This morning as I was getting breakfast ready for Lauren and myself, I heard a noise in the family room and looked over to see that Buford had climbed up on the couch and was making himself cozy!  I was in complete disbelief!  I grabbed a point and shoot camera that was handy and snapped a couple of pictures so I could show Tracy.  We have never seen the dogs on the furniture!  We never encouraged it and they never tried and that's just the way it has always been.  In recent months, it's obvious sometimes when we get home that someone has been on the couch though.  We have a microfiber couch and sometimes there are lines all over it from nails digging to find just the right spot.  Since Puddin is the only one who scratches at her beds, we knew it was her.  However, she's tricky enough to never let us catch her.  I'm guessing that maybe Buford has been watching all this activity and decided to try it himself...only he wasn't smart enough to wait until we were gone! :)

I admit that it does make me worry a little because Macy suddenly changed her habits and began jumping up on our bed maybe 3-4 months before we found out she had cancer.  Once we learned about the cancer, I thought maybe she knew something long before we did and just decided to make the most of it and laying on the bed made her feel better.  Hopefully, that's just a crazy thought and we still have healthy pups on our hands!

I always thought of it as a sign that they'd truly become comfortable in our house. Buford certainly looks pleased with himself there on the couch! lol

Ours never showed any interest and we never encouraged them. Then, just like you, I came home one day and found the evidence. A warm spot on the sofa. Not warm as in wet but warm as in a little body had been laying there just before I came in the door. It wasn't Truly. It was Maggie. I caught her by sneaking into the living room one day. As soon as she saw me, she jumped down like a scalded rat. I know she still does it but I've not caught her since. Sneaky girl - lol!

I hope you don't lose all your couch space and have to end up sitting on the floor like we do :)

He looks like pleased with his new seating. Beckett was the first one in our house to discover the comforts of couches, then a couple days later Veil got up and never looked back. Maddy still won't venture on any furniture, even though I have tried to get her to, LOL. I always feel bad for her, but I guess she likes having her own space.

He sure looks cozy. Hope he's just decided to live the extra good life.
