Baby, It's Cold Outside

The kid's coats arrived last week - finally! It took nearly six weeks - twice as long as we were quoted - but I was excited when we finally got them so I could keep my babies warm on our walks. One of us takes the dogs for a walk just about every day. At this point, it has become so much a part of their routine that they pretty much demand it. They both get very anxious knowing that we have to leave, but a walk seems to calm them right down. Our walks are the one time that Macy doesn't even seem to notice the cold. Any other time, she will either refuse to go out or runs out to her "spot" to potty and just as quickly makes a beeline back inside! Buford is the exact opposite. He is huffing no matter what the temperature is and really seems to be energized by the cold weather...it was no surprise that he did not like his new coat.

First, he just froze and was afraid to move. He looked like he thought he was being punished and couldn't understand why?

Then he literally starting bucking like a bronco trying to get it off! I was able to catch one shot of this, but it was quite a sight to see! He did the same thing when I tried Macy's raincoat on him one time. I'm guessing he wasn't a big fan of wearing his racing silk either!

And here's our pretty little girl who was much happier wrapped in warmth.

A couple mornings earlier (before the arrival of that dreaded coat), Buford snuck out the door with his bone and had a blast in the freezing cold - I think it was in the low 20s! You can see the frost on the ground and it was first thing in the morning, but he loved it.

Macy decided to join in the fun, but just for a couple of minutes. This is what I call her "attack mode", when she is waiting for just the right moment to charge Buford.

Great pictures. Macy looks so elegant in her new coat. I particularly like the one of Buford in mid-leap. He looks so happy.

Angela, these are great pictures! I Love their new coats. My Dream hates wearing one too.

Not sure that my guys are that excited about being in coats. They sure do look cute though.

Love the stalking picture. I can just imagine her in the Serengeti tracking some gazelle.
