Dogs Get A Bath

We decided it was time to give the dogs a bath.  This was Vinny's first bath and I couldn't help but think that this may be Puddin's last bath (she seems to be aging way too fast lately!).  Vinny did great, far exceeding my expectations, especially considering he won't even go outside to go potty if it's sprinkling!  He was not stressed, did not try to run away, and generally seemed to think he was at the spa, lol!  He will likely be getting another bath soon since his beautiful black coat gave way to tons of dandruff and dry skin after his bath.  We do give daily fish oil and he's not itchy, but I guess we just loosened lots of dry skin.  Puddin was shaking the whole time, with her tail tucked between her legs, and we pretty much had hold all of her weight so she didn't fall down :(  I grabbed a couple quick pictures, but mostly I held her back end up which has become very weak.  I thought the kids were going to help, but it turns out that they just played together in the other pool while Tracy and I bathed the dogs.  When everyone was done I did catch this sweet moment between Lauren and Vinny!  Vinny was just a happy-go-lucky guy while Puddin couldn't even bear to look at me as if she was just so disappointed in us for putting her through a bath!

If Puddin could only talk! Her eyes say so much. What a story she could tell! And Vinny looks great. Amazing how beautiful their coats become after some good bushings and a couple of baths. BeBE was a reddish black when she came to live with us but her coat has become jet black and so shiny after some extra care. We saw a racing greyhound that is so precious. Her name is Ali's Charlie and she is mostly all white. Maybe we will try to contact the trainer and tell him we are interested in her after her racing career.
