As we were walking through the vending area, people kept commenting on Vinny and how happy he was to be there! He had a smile on his face and never stopped wagging his tail at every dog he greeted and every person who gave him attention!
We drove around in the Gettysburg Battlefield park a bit Friday evening and the weather was gorgeous. We made stops at the Virginia memorial as well as a couple others before heading to dinner. We ate outside at a pizza place so Vinny could stay with us for dinner. After dinner, we walked to an ice cream shop...pretty sure Vinny got brain freeze while eating his ice cream, but once he learned to slow down he enjoyed it, LOL!
That night Lauren, Vinny, and I stayed at a hotel that accepts dogs (of course!) while Taylor (better known as 'Chi Chi') stayed with my parents at a non-dog hotel which I thought would be best, especially due to her allergies. Our hotel was definitely not the best, but we did just fine all the same...considering that it was kind of a last minute decision to go, I guess I was lucky that I found a hotel and at least it was a chain and was very reasonable (we won't be staying there again though!).
Lauren was very excited to spend some time with just me and Vinny :) Vinny was very anxious in the hotel at first and was whining... Lauren said "it's okay boy, mama's here...and your mini mama is here too"! It was adorable and so true! She is really great with him! It turns out all he really wanted was to be up in the bed with us and once we let him up he never made another peep the rest of the night! It was fun to sleep with him, but he takes up a LOT of space and fortunately he hasn't got any ideas about getting in the bed at home!
On Saturday we drove over to Sachs Covered Bridge and saw Steve Uyehara of Crackerdog Photography. He was in the middle of a photography session, which I felt bad about interrupting, so we didn't stay long. Next time I hope to take some more photos there, but for now I just grabbed a couple on my phone.
