"Cat Safe"

This is Macy looking very happy, but with a bandaged leg. Now that she can run, she tried to catch a cat! The cat cleared the fence, Macy did not (thank God)! Fortunately, I didn't witness the whole event, but Tracy is positive that given one to two more seconds (literally), Macy would have had it in her mouth! It just looks like a little bandage, but she actually did cut her leg pretty bad and it seemed like it took it forever to heal.

Macy is so intelligent and we've known how smart she was from day one. She learns so fast and I'm certain that she must have heard Joan or some of the other kennel staff say that the cat safe females are always the first ones to get adopted. Since she's so smart and apparently understood what this meant, I think it must have gone like this. Macy thought "Hmmm....I think I can pull this off. I'll just PRETEND to be cat safe when they test me and then I'll find my forever home very soon." Well, it worked! And now that she knows that her mommy and daddy love her so much that they'll never give her back, she decided it was okay to let her true colors shine. When she sees a cat on a walk she sometimes trembles with exitement because she wants to go get it!

When we adopted, we requested a cat tolerant female because even though we didn't have a cat yet, Tracy wanted one. I'm very proud of our little girl though because I never wanted a cat. Sorry, Tracy - now it's me and Macy both against you :)
